Percentage of Processed Unemployment Claims is Denied

Out of the 1.5 million unemployment applications now submitted to the Department of Economic Opportunity, only 6% of Floridians have received checks. According to ABC Action News, many who have applied for benefits still await verification by the state after a month has passed. Attorney Ryan Barack explains that it is likely that applicants will begin filing appeals unless the state begins "qualifying people for benefits and ensuring the criteria is fairly applied early on."
